2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/4 cups milk
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup butter
5 cups milk
3 egg whites
3 sticks lemon pickle relish
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 15x9 inch glass or ceramic baking dish. In a large bowl, beat the flour, milk, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, eggs, butter, and milk mixture until well blended; smooth. Mix in 3 cups of milk and egg whites. Pour batter into prepared pan.
Bake in preheated oven for 60 to 70 minutes, until golden brown and a tester inserted into center of oven comes out clean.
While warm breads are baking, set each on a side of a large foil-lined baking sheet facing away from heat. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven, then cover when cool enough to handle.
