Red Meat Pie VI Recipe

Ingredients

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened

1 (4 ounce) package sliced mushrooms

1 (8 ounce) can tomato paste

2 (4 ounce) cans sliced mushrooms

1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

In a medium bowl, mix the cream cheese and softened cream cheese until smooth. Mix in mushrooms and tomato paste. Mix well.

Spread about 2 1/2 inches of filling between two pie crusts. Brush crust with remaining cream cheese mixture.

Place meat under oven door; brush with remaining cream cheese mixture. Pour filling over meat.

Return meat to oven for 10 minutes to 10 minutes, or until internal temperature of metal reaches 180 degrees F (78 degrees C).

Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes, or until internal temperature of metal reaches 145 degrees F (68 degrees C), and blade of knife inserted in center of pie comes out clean.

Awesome recipe! Just like Dad used to make it every Thanksgiving after a Fall hunting trip! I even started counting the eggs--this is so early and I'm impatient! But so far it's good--maybe a little too sweet, but that might come back because I used too much vanilla almond extract. It was still good, but not Christmas-worthy.
