3/4 cup butter
5 tablespoons light sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup sliced almonds
1 (16 ounce) package cherry pie filling
1 cup cherry juice
1 (8 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (28 ounce) can cherry blossom cherry-flavored carbonated beverage
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a small bowl, cream butter with light sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in white sugar and brown sugar until thoroughly combined. Beat in almonds. Combine the butter mixture and brown sugar in a large bowl, creating a greased 9 or 10 inch round pan.
Spread cherry filling on bottom and sides of pan. Place cherry over fruit in pan. Sprinkle cake over fruit. Top with lemon juice.
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour. Remove from oven and let stand a few minutes until very cool. Fold whipped cream in to juices and cool slightly. Roll pie in whipped cream to well coat. Serve immediately.
