1/4 cup butter, cubed
8 cups white sugar
3 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons milk
1 cup finely chopped almonds
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl, cream together butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla extract. Beat in flour. Mix in one cup flour, then mix in milk and almonds. Spoon 1/2 of the dough with hands into the bottom of a greased 9x13 inch pan. Lay four ungreased cookie sheets on the other side.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to the oven.
