Mint Patties Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup shortening

1 cup white sugar

2 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/3 cup milk

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup milk

1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, cream together the shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, salt and milk, stir into the creamed mixture. Finally, stir in the walnuts and 1 cup of sugar.

Divide dough into two pieces, and roll each piece into a ball.

Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool before serving.
