1 (12 ounce) package fresh strawberries with rind
4 egg whites
1/2 cup white sugar
1 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 cup white sugar for rolling
In a large bowl combine egg whites, 1/2 cup sugar, and lemon juice. Pour into gelatin and chill until just cold. In a small mixing bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Fold 1/3 of the egg whites into the mixture.
Add remaining whites, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and water; fold in whipped topping. Roll and refrigerate until set but not sticky. Enjoy!)
