1 (3 pound) package frozen hash brown potatoes
1 cup water
3 cups crushed potato
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 (14 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16 ounce) package frozen sharp Cheddar cheese
salt and pepper to taste
1 (12 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
In a medium saucepan top with water and potatoes. Bring to a boil and cook until tender but firm, 2 minutes. Drain. Stir in potatoes, cheese, tomatoes, cream cheese, Cheddar cheese and salt and pepper to taste. Stir in thawed frozen whipped topping.
Pour potatoes into a 8x8 inch dish. Pour the tomato sauce over potatoes and tomato sauce. Pour over potatoes and tomato sauce. Pour cheese mixture over potatoes and pasta and pour cheese mixture over potatoes and tomato sauce. Sprinkle top with remaining potatoes and tomato sauce.
