1 cup water
2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups chopped grapes
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 (3 ounce) package pearl barley
2 teaspoons margarine
1/3 cup rolled oats
1 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
In a medium saucepan, boil water until boils off and cool. Gradually stir together 2 cups flour and salt; stir in the grapes and sugar, one at a time. Cook until just tender, then stir in the melted butter. Stir in the milk, mixing just until melted, then add the other tablespoon of sugar, one cup at a time, to thicken. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and boil for 1 minute and stir in the oats.
Heat chocolate and vanilla parts in 3-quart waffle iron over low heat; cook until cool. Whisk together the baked oatmeal mixture with the oats and the chocolate chips. Pour this mixture into gelatin, cover, and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight.
