1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a large bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, and flour. Stir in baking soda and butter or margarine. Stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
In a medium bowl, stir together oats and peanut butter. Stir in 1/2 cup white sugar and egg; stir until all ingredients are thoroughly combined. Stir in vanilla. Drop dough by heaping spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes in the preheated oven. Cool and cut into squares.
