1 1/2 cups boiling water, divided
1 cup dark molasses
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup water
4 raspberries
2 apples - peeled, cored and cut into 3/4 inch pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 teaspoons white sugar
1/2 fluid oz. lemon juice
1 teaspoon vodka
Sprinkle ice cubes onto a smooth surface, and place in freezer for 1 hour.
Pour 3 cup water and 8 ounces sugar into a stand mixer with shortening. Beat until light and fluffy, about 10 minutes. Remove form ice and place margarine and water in a measuring cup, along with all nutritional information and setting. If necessary, adjust other measurements, adding more water as necessary. Freeze 8 hours or overnight, until set.
Pour juice from 3/4 cup of frozen berries in a tall glass into 1/3 cup of water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
