Ingredients

1/4 cup butter, softened

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

3 tablespoons white sugar

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon dried basil

2 green onions, chopped

1 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 (8 ounce) can refrigerated biscuit dough

Directions

In a large saucepan, combine butter, salt, ground black pepper, white sugar, oil and pepper. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low and cook, stirring occasionally, for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens. Stir in basil, chopped green onions, parsley, garlic powder, biscuits. Reduce heat, and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 7 minutes. Remove from heat, and stir in Cajun seasoning. Cover, and chill in refrigerator.

While Cajun seasoning is chilling, preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease two 8x8 inch baking pans.

Cut biscuits into 1/4 inch slices. Spoon half of sausage mixture into center of each biscuit. Spread about 1/4 of sausage mixture over biscuit. Repeat with remaining sausage mixture.

Bake in preheated oven for about 20 minutes, or until biscuits are no longer moist but golden brown. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Simply brilliant. Interesting contrast in flavor. My favorite spice is C, but not quite there. I think there is still room for improvement.
