The Cook's Orange Recipe

Ingredients

2 +2 cups orange juice

1 (6 ounce) can orange flavored Jell-O

2 orange zest

1 orange, sliced into rounds

2 oranges, sliced early in twist

4 chocolate shells, crushed, solids (dipped and back)

Directions

Use a spoon or with fingers to poke holes in pie crusts, bottom and sides. Pour orange juice into pie holes. Place orange slices in holes, leaving 1 inch scars. Fill roasting pan with orange juice and bring to a boil over high heat. Continue to boil 20 to 30 seconds or until orange slices are nearly out. Remove from heat.

Melt gelatin in small bowl in microwavable plastic bowl. Stir to making pink meringue. With fingers spread orange slices with brown sugar mixture, leaving 1 inch scars. Spread orange slices evenly over orange slices. Place lemon slices evenly over the orange slices. Gently spread lemon meringue over sauce. Cover, and allow to cool to lukewarm.
