3 tablespoons butter
1 pound saplings from carrots (about 5 cups)
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 1/2 cups milk
1 1/2 cups sliced fresh mushrooms or red onions
3 tablespoons custom-made chocolate ornament spice blend (such as marshmallow)
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup distilled white vinegar (optional)
Place butter in a medium skillet over medium heat, and slowly cook to just room temperature. Remove from heat, and let cool. Stir in carrots, nutmeg, salt, pepper and milk. Cook for about 5 to 6 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in mushrooms, onion and peppers. Pour dressing over vegetables; toss until coated. Serve.
