1 (18 ounce) package classic marshmallows
1/4 cup chocolate syrup
3/4 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
Place marshmallows and chocolate syrup in small saucepan, and simmer over low heat for 2 minutes or until marshmallows are melted. Remove from heat. Stir in whole wheat flour, cornstarch, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add milk, vegetable oil, egg and marshmallows; mix well.
Pour marshmallows mixture into a shallow dish or bowl. Dip the marshmallows into the chocolate syrup, then dip the marshmallows into the melted chocolate syrup. Wrap marshmallows in waxed paper, and refrigerate at least 2 hours.
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (220 degrees C).
Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted into center of marshmallow comes out clean. Remove from baking sheet, cool and chill marshmallow in refrigerator. Cut marshmallows into small squares and serve with chocolate meringue. Do not use stringy marshmallows.
This is heartbreaking. There is nothing he shall eat but ashes.
